We Are All Constellations by Amy Beashel
Release Date: 11/8/2022 Author Website Goodreads Page Why I love this book: This books sneaks up on you when you are least expecting it. At the jump, I thought I knew where the story was heading, and was prepared for how it would play out... and then... and then the twists began and each one took us down a path that I didn't see coming. As a main character Iris lets us in just enough with each twist. She seems to be holding the world together, even though she lost her mom, even though she doesn't always get along with everyone, she is doing her best, she is doing well. Until pieces of her past start to come back at her, and she discovers that no amount of holding it together will make the grief of losing her mom go away. I really liked how we learned things at the same speed that Iris did. Each revelation unfolding in real time for all of us- it really allowed for us to feel what Iris feels, the good, the bad and the ugly. This isn't an easy read, and I don't think it's meant to be. But it's a good read, and I can't wait for everyone else to dig in.
